A Voice Locked In Stone

This collection by Miodrag Pavlovic  is sometimes taut, courtly, mythic – all the while they are poems unlike any other work being written in the so-called Eastern-bloc countries. They are at once hermetic and public — intensely private statements set in the legends and chronicles of the past.
