Michel Beaulieu won the Governor General’s award for poetry in 1982. He was the most productive and the most genuinely experimental of Quebec’s younger poets until his sudden death in 1985. He published nearly twenty texts – among them FM, Annecdotes, Oracle des Ombres, and in translation with Exile Editions, Countenances, Spells of Fury, and Kaleidoscope.
Spells of Fury (Picas Reprint Edition)

These are poems of love and fury steeped in the sensual magic of everyday words and things.
Translated from French by Arlette Francière.
“Spells of Fury … sizzles off the pages. Even in translation, Beaulieu’s imagery retains its anger and cutting savagery.” —The Reviewing Librarian
