About our use of the Submittable Portal. Some authors have written wondering if their story was included for consideration, because there is no portal message/indication to say it was “opened.” Our procedure was simply to download the file, since no judges are invited to do work through the portal (this is how we keep your identity private) and thus no commenting or status changes are indicated.
