A Time For Judas is a dramatic new version of the story of Christ’s trial, crucifixion, and resurrection. It is audacious and intriguing as a tale.
Philo of Crete – and this is his story, his manuscript – is devoted to honestly recording the events he saw during his time as secretary to Pontius Pilate. As Pilate’s scribe, he was present at the trial of “the Galilean,” he knew Judas Iscariot, he mingled with the city prostitutes and desert bandits. It is through Judas that he learns the real story of betrayal, and what actually happened to Christ’s body. This is a radical telling of the accepted story, but it is entirely persuasive.
