Claire Wilks, whose drawings and sculptures are in gallery and private collections, has exhibited in the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, and in Toronto, Calgary, Rome and Bologna, Zagreb, and Mexico. She is the author of Drawings (1975), The Magic Box: The Eccentric Genius of Hannah Maynard (1979), Two Of Us Together: Each Of Us Alone, a limited edition portfolio of 275 (1982), Two Of Us Together: Each Of Us Alone, a commercial edition (1983), Tremors (1983), Hillmother (1983), and I Know Why The Roses Bloom (1986). She has also been a leading visual researcher in public affairs at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. As such, awards for her work include: the Art Director’s Club Award (1980-81), an International Emmy Award (1978), an ACTRA Award (1978), an International Emmy Award (1980), the Annik Award (1981), and for the film, Just Another Missing Kid, an Oscar (1982), and an International Emmy Award (1986).
