Spiral is a book of stills from a silent film first presented on the CBC in 1975 and later “performed” by the Toronto Dance Theatre. Marshall McLuhan, before he died, suggested that Etrog order stills from the film and set out to provide an annotation to those stills — a free-form text of quotations from various writers — as well as a commentary.
