Pier Paolo Pasolini

$26.95

The Italian film maker Pier Paolo Pasolini was first and always a poet – the most important poet of the people, according to Alberto Moravia, in Italy in the second half of the last century. His poems are both confessional — he was expelled from the Italian Communist Party because of his homosexuality in 1949 – and engaged in the political turmoil of his country. Born in 1922, he was murdered in 1975 at Ostia, near Rome. Antonino Mazza is outstanding among those young poets in Canada whose family roots are in Italy. His translations are of the first order of freshness and skill.

Selected, translated from Italian, and with an Afterword by Antonino Mazza.
