Satan Belhumeur

Satan Belhumeur is a prophet who lives in a Montreal sewer pipe, who drinks beer out of a judge’s shoe. He is a bum and a Jew, a saint who will, through the Québécois, redeem himself. The prose has a manic energy appropriate to visions of prophecy, damnation and redemption, the prose we have come to expect from one of Quebec’s master story-tellers.
