“Steven Hayward is a master of the comic heartbreaker, and To Dance the Beginning of the World shows the surprising ways he can do funny strange and funny ha-ha within the space of a few pages. Rich, entertaining and wise: this is great storytelling.” —Andrew Pyper, author of The Demonologist and The Damned
“Wry and funny and unnerving. Hayward offers us comic characters in footnoted fables packed with secret messages from the heart of the heart of the country.” —Peter Behrens, author of The Law of Dreams and The O’Briens
