White Lies Plus Two

White Lies and Other Fictions was Seán Virgo’s first collection of short stories. Published in 1981, it received critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic. Since then, Seán Virgo has published two more collections of stories, Through the Eyes of a Cat and, most recently, Wormwood, as well as his novel, Selakhi. This reissue of White Lies and Other Fictions includes the two Home and Native Land stories, omitted from the first edition for contractual reasons.

These stories, one of which won a CBC national story competition, another a BBC national competition, are now brought back into print, along with two unpublished stories from the same period.
