From Monday the 15th of January 1979 to Tuesday the 29th of April 1980, the author kept a more or less daily journal. He was living in Montreal, on the slope of Mount Royal<\/em> where he loved to follow and walk the narrow footpaths, from where you can see the city, the river, and a whole landscape corresponding to his own roots \u2014 the Poitou landscape in France where he was born and where those who gave him life lie.
